Notification Process for Computer Security Incidents
The ITS Security Office provides, at no charge, a notification service to state and local government agencies of security threats to information technology systems that have a potential impact on government systems, including viruses, worms, Trojan horses and other destructive code.
As part of the notification service, the ITS Security Office carefully researches security threat reports before broadcasting notices in an effort keep hoax-related traffic to a minimum on the state network.
Subscribers to the service receive alerts about security threats, such as new computer viruses, that may be a damaging and/or disruptive to their organizations. The service is dedicated to informing state agencies and local governments about computer security threats as well as communicating methods to protect their organizations, such as new anti-virus software information.

To subscribe to the service using e-mail, send an e-mail message to ITS.ISO@ncmail.nett. Include your name, title, agency and daytime telephone number and indicate that you would like to be added to the ITS security notification service. The ITS Security Office will process your request.
